Some of the most important goals for current scientific research are the
development of approaches to improve human health, produce sustainable
agriculture, promote bio-energy, and protect the environment. A unique area that
can provide the fundamental bases for achieving these objectives is through an
understanding of the ever-evolving genetic makeup of all organisms, which can be
achieved through advances in genomics, multi-level Omics and computational
biological research.
The 5th International Conference on Genomics (ICG-V), to be held
in
Shenzhen, China, November 15–18, 2010, will emphasize the latest advances in
genomic technologies, bioinformatics developments, and their relevant biological
findings, with a focus on how progress in these areas will impact our lives.
ICG - V 2010 will be the fifth gathering of old friends and new friends from all
over the world in a variety of research fields. The plenary sessions will focus
on development in genomics and bioinformatics technologies. In addition, ICG-V
also organizes several workshops on research and application advances in Health,
Agriculture, Horticulture, Aquaculture and Ecology, providing communication
platforms for all participants. Experts from world top universities, genome
research centers and bioinformatics institutions including Broad, Sanger and
Bio-IT will provide updates on research progress and present novel research
strategies.
We believe that ICG-V will be an exciting event for exchanging views, building
collaborations, generating new ideas and expanding friendship to the growing
scientific community. We sincerely invite you and look forward to your presence
and active participation at the ICG - V 2010.
